It's Autumn In Yosemite

That she smiled, well it said it all. At least all that I needed. Her trail name - Autumn, a more colorful version of Fall - would be given to her by her youth group because while hiking she lost the battle with gravity a few too many times! That, it turned out, would be the easy part. Mosquitoes, blisters, planter fasciitis, altitude, trekking with a heavy back pack, they all took their toll. It was, in my daughter's words, the hardest thing she has ever done. Crossing 35 miles in Yosemite's high country in 6 days and 5 nights, sleeping under the stars (sans tent), while leaving no trace, taught her some things. Then she smiled! And that told me one thing.

What she learned...was about herself.
